I'm not sure how much is of value, but you have to admit the price is right. It's always good to have new and unusual plugins.

Re: FREE FREE FREE!
Wed, December 19, 2007 - 4:42 PMthe magazines "computer music" and "future music" are great, but really i buy them for the software & samples... in the states they're painful ($14+) but over here in you-rope the price is nice (6E--almost half the price.)
definitely gonna check the link, j. -

Re: FREE FREE FREE!
Thu, December 20, 2007 - 9:16 AMIf you consider that there are the equivalent of $100 worth of free samples and up to $500 worth of free software in
every single issue of Computer Music and Future Music , let alone all the really helpful tutorials and educational articles
about how to make electronic music, $14+ is a huge bargain.
What stomp box pedal can you buy for $14?
What commercial samples CD or DVD can you buy for $14?
On some levels , even at a 'painful' $14, they are the deal of the century. I buy them religiously when money permits. -

this is a fantastic collection of quirky stuff!!!!!!
thanks for the link.
Also, for any newbies in this tribe...........go to the first two or three pages of this tribes archival posts and check out the 100s and 100s
of freeware URLs that we've all assembled here. It's an amazing list that you'll never have time to check out completely due to it's large volume.
Enjoy.................da moderator!

ooh. got me there...
<On some levels , even at a 'painful' $14, they are the deal of the century. I buy them religiously when money permits.>
yeah, that's the rub "when money permits." $14 is when it was cheap--i've paid as much as $17. now i just need to learn how to read spanish better so i can take advantage of the *articles* in the last few issues i've purchased... ;) -

Re: FREE FREE FREE!
Thu, December 20, 2007 - 12:35 PMFuture Music rocks.. the last few months alone, video tutorial/interviews with both Coburn and Steve Angello!
That's worth WAY more than $14 and even overshadows the demos and samples on the disc.
Seriously anyone who produces 4/4 dance music on Logic needs to watch these videos!
THANK YOU FUTURE MUSIC!!!
Computer Music is nice too, but sometimes their writers are so stupid... -

Mon, December 31, 2007 - 10:14 AMI love reading comments like this-----"Computer Music is nice too, but sometimes their writers are so stupid..."
Does this mean producers like yourself that don't use computers are never stupid?? After listening to your trax, I don't hear anything that would put you into the "musical genius" category.....
It's one thing if your trax were at all good....and I don't care who or what labels have signed you....but I think they suck. So put your ego in check and learn to respect anyone who shares the same vision, regardless of there choice of creation tools..
peace.

I think you may have misunderstood him, he was referring to a magazine entitled "Computer Music" and not people who make music on computers.
My 2 cents on CM is that the samples aren't terribly useful, though you can find a few gems occasionally, and I still use some of their CM plugins to this day. I stopped buying it a few years ago as there are generally only a few articles which appeal to me as they cover ALL software and I can't possibly use it all. It is pretty painfully expensive too, when I was in England I bought every issue they had on the stand. -

Wow, that takes the cake for being the most pretentious and hypocritical thing I've recently had the pleasure of reading. You both called him an egotistical, suck-ass producer and told him not to act like he's better than anyone else. Does that strike anyone else as a bit, well...what do you call that uncalled for, interwebz retaliation anyway? Kudos for representing yourself well. I ell oh elled. -

Sun, May 11, 2008 - 10:00 PMthis is the FIRST thread on here i've seen with this kind of negativity...
i personally like computer music a lot... i think music tech is a bit better... and i don't much care for future music... i think future is aimed at a broader audience, and music tech is for music nerds like us...
i wonder if you think my tracks suck...

Tue, May 13, 2008 - 5:25 AMYes, I think you are right on this one.
As moderator, can I ask that everyone make a concerted attempt to be polite and respectful,
even when someone is immature and provacative.
It's like akido.................if we are circumspect and (and even compassionate for
someone who is trying to pick a fight) then they have nothing to respond to
and the unpleasant thread dies.
If someone continues after that point to be provacative, then I will remove them after
a respectful but firm private warning.
this is an awesome tribe. Let's keep it awesome and resist relatively small warfare
and flame wars here.

Tue, May 13, 2008 - 11:34 AMYou should hit up Jo while you're there. Have fun and congrats on the far distant gig. -

Re: FREE FREE FREE!
Sat, May 17, 2008 - 4:21 PMThanks, sAro?,
The tour is fantastic so far. I had a feature slot at the FUZZ Guitar Music Convention in Goteborg with two fantastic fretless guitarists,
Norway's Tellef Ogrim and Sweden's Per Boysen and then we went and played a wonderful festival in Oslo.
Where is Jo located, by the way? -

Re: FREE FREE FREE!
Sun, May 18, 2008 - 5:08 AMI'd love to, Senor, but I'm performing in Norway ,Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, England, Wales and Northern Ireland
before heading home, excited, exhausted and broke............lol!!!!!!
Next year I am trying to mount a Mediterranean tour. I already have gigs planned in Athens, Greece, Rome, Firenze, Veniezia and Lago Di Garda in Italy and possibly Madrid in Spain.
Would you be interested in helping me to produce a live looping-electronica event in Barcelona?
I'm almost positive that the wonderful Mexicano live looping artist, Luis Angulo, who lives with his German wife and kids
in Radolfzell will be able to come perform as well. -

Re: FREE FREE FREE!
Sun, May 18, 2008 - 5:11 AMI forgot to say that I have parrticular resonance with Barcelona........I'd dearly love to
do a 1st Live Looping event there if possible, but lacking that, would love to just at least
do a nice gig there with some other 'out of the box' electronica artists (as opposed to
typical commercial dance electronica artists).
Everywhere I go o these tours I am doing two and three person improvisations with musicians '
from really divergent stylistic approaches. I love to freely improvise and feel comfortable
in any musical context at all from totally out, experimental to jazz to abstract electronica to ambient
to even pop, funk and soul. -
